Join as a Lighting Design Engineer in our Specialist and Architectural Lighting Team. We work on projects of all types and sizes across the UK and overseas. Our projects are bringing digitalisation to lighting solutions and transforming the way people live and work. You will be part of our team specialising in Climate Based Daylighting together with Sun Path Analysis for Overshadowing and Glint and Glare Assessment.  You will also support interior and exterior architectural lighting schemes from concept through to construction with sustainability and net zero carbon at the forefront of all we do.  To lead in emerging areas that interest you, all you need to do is speak up and take the initiative.

You will be working a hybrid pattern typically in the London office two days per week, the formal base will be Epsom but there is no expectation that you will need to attend there on a regular basis.

Your purpose:

  • Responsible for developing Climate Based Daylighting analysis and solutions along with Sun Path Analysis for overshadowing for a wide variety of clients and scenarios.
  • Delivery of technical Lighting consultancy and design support related to multi-disciplinary interior and exterior projects.
  • Engaging with customers and other stakeholders to develop innovative low carbon solutions in a responsive and client focused manner.
  • Supporting the team with the development of technical solutions, reports and management of projects.
  • Supporting the delivering projects to time and budget.
  • Ensuring all work is delivered to a high level of quality and professionalism.
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of other staff.
  • Promoting the benefits of sustainable lighting solutions.

What you can bring:

  • Experience of delivering a wide variety of Climate Based Daylighting schemes and solutions along with Sun Path Analysis for overshadowing and architectural lighting concepts and designs for interior and exterior applications.
  • Ability to apply lighting standards and your experience in such a way to deliver client requirements.
  • Proficient in discipline related design software particularly REVIT, Sketchup, Rhino, AutoCAD and BIM related plugin’s, Lighting Reality, Dialux EVO, Relux, Climate Studio, Grasshopper, Lady Bug, Honeybee Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign software. Basic and Intermediate knowledge of the following design related software is beneficial – DIVA for Rhino and VELUX.
  • Experience of national standards and specific client requirements.
  • Ability to support the discipline lead on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Ability to understand the key client drivers and propose innovative low carbon solutions.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement with clients and contractors.
  • Experience of undertaking daytime and night-time lighting surveys and assessments.
