Kent is looking for outstanding candidates to join our low carbon and onshore projects team. We are looking for candidates at all levels from Junior through to Principal Engineer to support ongoing and new contracts.

You will be working within a company with the feel of a billion-dollar start-up backed up with over 100 years of heritage and pedigree in the energy sector.

The Role

At Kent, we use our skills and experience to reduce humanities impact to the world’s climate. Our established team undertakes work in carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS), green and blue hydrogen, low carbon fuels and chemicals including those from waste feedstocks, and onshore process projects; we are currently delivering consultancy, studies, front end, delivery phase, and construction and commissioning management work across these plant types. Kent has a fantastic track record in low carbon and onshore with references including industry leading plant designs.

We are recruiting across a range of disciplines and levels to support our work:

  • Process
  • Mechanical Equipment
  • Piping and Layout
  • Electrical
  • Instrument, Controls, and Telecomms
  • Civil and Structural
  • Design safety and environmental

At junior levels you will be capable of manging your workload, delivering tasks to budget and timescale requirements whilst working under technical supervision.

At more senior levels this will involve progressively more involvement depending on experience and taking responsibility for more independent working or supervising small teams on proposals, studies or smaller projects. You will be capable of producing discipline plans for projects and providing leadership on projects within your discipline.

At Principal level, you will be capable of holding Lead Engineering positions, planning discipline activities on projects, monitoring man hours and progress, supervising others, leading teams to perform against targets. As a professional ensure that project financial budgets are adhered to and projects are completed in the required time frame. This includes allocating and directing staff within the discipline and allocating resources needed for the project

Travel to client or vendor sites will be expected as required along with provision of construction and commissioning support on projects.

The Person

We are looking for people who relish technically challenging engineering projects. You will be passionate and driven to improve the way we do things and deliver above and beyond to clients. You will be a proactive team player with excellent communication and presentation skills. You will be highly organised and enjoy a fast-paced working environment. You will take responsibility for your own development and enjoy mentoring and supporting others in the team.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Degree (BEng, MEng or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
  • Experience working in a relevant industry (Oil & Gas, Low Carbon, Process, Power, Water). 
  • At senior levels, ideally chartered with a recognised institution, or actively working towards chartership status. 
  • At senior levels, experience of leading work scopes to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality and of contributing to successful bids and proposals.
