The Atkins Realis Manchester office is seeking to recruit a MANAGING QUANTITY SURVEYOR within our Industry Business Sector. This business sector contains a number of blue-chip client organisations and as a result some of the projects we work on are high profile and have a high capital value. We are looking for individuals that can manage commercial activities on site for the client and form part of a team approach to project delivery. The Candidate will be a key member of the relevant site-based client team and have the responsibility of day-to-day client liaison including continuing to develop the AtkinsRéalis profile within the client office and secure repeat work and new business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic individual with an experienced background in the industry sector, ideally process, petro-chemical, pharmaceutical, or nuclear to join our team; in return AtkinsRéalis will provide the necessary support to develop your career to the next level.
Role Responsibilities:
- To be based on the client site in Cheshire 4 days per week.
- Responsible for management of the QS team, ensuring compliance with the clients Project Control processes and procedures including delivery of technical training.
- Provision full quantity surveying duties.
- Production of various classes of project estimates including commercial risk registers.
- Perform project audits and peer review of sanction estimates.
- Maintain “waterfall” charts to track the key movements through estimate development through project approval gates.
- Implement the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) principles from the early inception of the project.
- Advise on contract strategy and timescales including commercial strategy.
- Estimating/cost planning trough all project phases.
- Production of Contract Documents (Project, Term, Specialist).
- Formal monthly project reporting.
- Monitoring all work executed, at all stages, to ensure that an accurate and professional service is offered.
- Implement change control processes and management.
- Guidance of team members in technical and contractual obligations and duties.
- Professional interface with other disciplines and the client's representative.
- To ensure that reports are delivered on time to the client.
- To provide full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice.
- Service delivery to the clients and act as primary interface, ensuring we continue to secure the client’s confidence.
- Effective management of internal job costings in relation to the fee and services to be provided and resource requirements.
- Productive supervision of subordinates including adequate organisation, planning, monitoring and control.
Candidate Requirements:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying Ideally Chartered.
- Proven ability to demonstrate the effective delivery of QS duties.
- Fully experienced in Industry Sector Projects.
- Ability to manage a team on major/complex projects.
- Demonstrate an understanding of overall project requirements and the ability to advise clients knowledgably on overall project costs.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and high commitment in order to achieve goals.
- Proven record of client liaison and achieving client satisfaction.
- An innovative and proactive approach to your work.
- Ability to solve problems.
