This is a truly exciting opportunity for a Mid-Weight Graphic Designer to lead and support a variety of cross discipline projects and to become an influential member of a growing and highly talented team.

We’re looking for someone who is a natural initiative taker who brings out the best in the team. You will have a strong creative vision and be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to clients. You will have experience in developing a variety of outcomes across different creative disciplines with a focus on ensuring the approach of a project is focused on the experience and not dictated by technology.  

The successful candidate must be able to support creative teams to produce their best work and always be pushing to ensure projects are taken to the next level. You’ll be adaptable to different stakeholders and grow to have a strong awareness of the different skills in the team, allowing you to challenge creativity, processes and overall improve the quality of delivery.

Whether you’re designing for print, events, web, virtual reality or motion, the role offers great scope for creativity to bring greater value to our variety of engineering, infrastructure and architectural design projects. You will bring your ideas, passion and problem-solving approaches to help us deliver fresh, creative solutions. You’ll be a team player, capable of leading projects and ensuring that delivery is of the highest standard, both creatively and technically. You will embrace the variety of work, enjoy the buzz of a dynamic working environment and be brimming with creative ideas.

Importantly, you will have a stand-out portfolio full of great conceptual work, displaying a real passion for design.

Skills

  • Previous experience working in medium-large scale mixed discipline projects
  • Excellent and confident organisational and communication skills
  • A passion for design with an outstanding eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask across projects
  • A commitment to high quality work and perfecting details
  • Ability to build excellent client relationships through thought leadership, outstanding creativity and proactive and reactive problem solving

Requirements

  • A creative thinker who is comfortable talking with clients to understand their ideas and bring them to life
  • Confident communication with clients and colleagues when pitching and winning new work
  • Experience of working with digital teams to deliver innovative multi-discipline
  • Helping to develop future work pipeline through client engagement, spotting opportunities and maximizing potential
  • A creative designer who is unafraid to challenge – happy with day-to-day tasks but always looking for ways to add value
  • Passionate, driven and wanting to invest in Creative Design’s vision and culture
  • An expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong layout and typography skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Friendly approach and a team player

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the engineering / consultancy sector
  • Design strategy background
  • UX/UI
  • Motion design
  • Experience using a project management system such as Monday.com/Asana

‘Creative Design’ is not your typical in-house team. We are a proactive and creative team of over 50 designers, developers, visualisers, filmmakers and immersive media specialists based across 8 offices, 7 in the UK and one in India. We deliver world class solutions to a wide range of Atkins clients including MoD, EDF, Highways England, Transport for London, HS2 and the Environment Agency. We work collaboratively with Atkins’ teams and external clients, getting to the heart of problems and adding value and innovation to every project.
