How will you contribute to the team?

The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain all project scheduling functions, systems and procedures to assure definition, determination of schedule status and progress, and analysis of schedule trends for effective project management.

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Review Scheduling requirement with the Sarnia Controls Manager.
  • Plan and Generate all EP and EPC schedules for the Sarnia office operations Including RFP schedules
  • Prepare all scheduling input to Monthly Progress Reports.
  • Prepare and regularly update Project schedule in collaboration with various Project Managers and Directors
  • Preparation and regular updating of detailed precedence co-ordination schedules by package and facility.
  • Provide all required schedule information (milestones, interfaces, durations) for all contracted packages to ensure proper evaluation of quotations,
  • Prepare monthly comparison to target schedule and progress reporting.
  • Prepare when required all man-hour (engineering, direct and indirect construction) loading distribution in collaboration with project and functional managers.
  • Ensure proper co-ordination client and with site when required in definition of contract timelines.
  • To prepare schedule trends and formulate workaround and corrective action plans where required.
  • Develop all project man-hour reporting requirements in conjunction with
    Project Controls Manager to ensure proper transfer of actual spent engineering man-hours to PM+ and other project management software
  • Participate in the development of other planning and scheduling staff with the Project Controls Manager in the Sarnia office
  • Complying with all Company and departmental policies and procedures including all Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

What will you contribute?

  • Engineering Degree (B.Eng.) from a recognized university
  • Minimum five (5) years planning and scheduling experience, preferably in an EPC environment
  • Experience in working with a team of Planner/Schedulers
  • Exposure to Schedule Risk Analysis tools on Major EPC Projects
  • Experience with LSTK and Reimbursable contracts
  • Proficient with Primavera (P6) and MS Office suite of Programs
  • Working knowledge of the elements of project management systems
  • Considerable knowledge of planning and scheduling methods and procedures
  • Proficient with relevant computer applications including Primavera P6, MS Project
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly with MS Excel
  • Self-starter
  • Detail-Oriented & Analytical
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills
