- Our business, and client delivery teams, are awash with data, but often struggle to realize the value from it. Our Enabling Services teams work collaboratively with our delivery teams and clients to help them make better and more timely decisions, increase project delivery efficiency and manage our serviced products. We support clients across many industry sectors, and see our Indian talent being integral to delivery for our Energy, Water and Transport clients in particular.
- As our Practice Lead for Enabling Services in our Global Technology Centre (GTC) in India, your purpose will be to spearhead a high value end-to-end service for our wider project delivery teams through Information Management (IM) advisory, visualization & simulation, re-use & automation, digital twins and our business application support service (BASS). The reach of this practice is broad, touching the full breath of our global engineering design teams, and is a key enabler to ensuring our overall business success – the practice is the backbone of our high quality delivery and enhances our commercial positions.
- The Enabling Services team is part of our Digital practice. It sits alongside two other services: Data Intelligence and Technology Solutions. Data Intelligence helps our clients set data strategy and governance, architect and manage their data and generate insight from it through artificial intelligence and powerful visualizations. Technology Solutions is our end-to-end service to help our clients integrate, deliver and run high quality technology their people embrace.
- You will need to work with the other Practice Leads in India, whilst collaborating closely with your counterparts in our global regions to: attract, develop and retain talent; manage project delivery to exceptional quality standards; define and strengthen capabilities and service lines; and manage our commercial, operational and risk indicators. This is a team leadership role, you will be expected to complete technical delivery, but provision will be made for a portion of non-productive time.
Accountabilities
You will be empowered to drive the success of Enabling Services, working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business. Specifically, you will have a big personal impact to:
- Develop an top service in Information Management (IM) advisory, visualization & simulation, re-use & automation, digital twins and business application support service (BASS)
- Mature the technical capabilities of the practice, being a respected technical driver in multiple capabilities
- and able to identify and empower others within your team to share knowledge and mentor new and junior
- team members for the betterment of the practice
- Ensure efficient utilization and growth of the resource pool within the Practice in conjunction with the Practice Resource Manager, stretching our talent to meet and exceed their growth aspirations
- Actively participate and provide both technical and supervision contributions toward the Information Management Global Technical Network (GTN)
- Collaborate with Technical leadership from across the business, and our GTC Digital Growth Lead to drive adoption of the services provided by the Enabling Service Practice, and shape the future delivery service offerings to continue to minimize risk for the business whilst maximizing value
- Streamline interfaces with other Practice areas, both within the GTC and more broadly, to enable high value integrated propositions, identifying complementary expertise and aligning ways of working to reduce barriers
- Ensure consistently high-quality delivery that delights our clients and delivery teams despite inevitable setbacks, driving the adoption of modern methods in all engagements, capturing insights to embed continuous improvement and shifting towards a service-oriented business model
- Adhering to level of service provisions as defined per service and administering a net promotor score or equivalent measurement program to monitor client satisfaction for the provided services.
Person profile
- You will be an experienced and excellent authority in providing a consultancy service to help teams optimize their overall program delivery using digital products and services. Beyond that, you will:
- Be a recognized and respected technical figurehead in many of the capability lines of the practice
- Have a track record in setting and implementing strategy for a high performing service
- Relish nurturing, developing and motivating teams to deliver excellence and realize growth
- Care passionately about delighting clients through a collaborative style and quality delivery
- Give behavior and culture at least as much emphasis as technical skills development
- Think innovatively and creatively about the best way to solve clients’ problems
- Be commercially astute, leveraging internal resource, intellectual property and supply chain
- Ideally have some experience of shifting towards outcome-based models of consultancy.
- Communicate complex technical subjects clearly and concisely with a focus on benefits
- Be curious and outward looking in the rapidly changing landscape to keep our service fresh
You will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills, and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (practical experience in lieu will be considered)
- Demonstrable continued professional development through workshops, seminars and related courses and professional activities
- Extensive experience in overseeing the design and development of large applications, including application development processes and quality control while coordinating multiple programmers
- Extensive experience with current programming techniques, development tools, database design and/or administration of enterprise relational database management systems
- Demonstrable experience operating using excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communications skills
- An industry recognized certification, i.e., PRINCE2 or equivalent
Location
- Whilst this role is a GTC leadership position, we are open to applicants from other geographies. Applicants from other geographies will be expected to articulate how they would fulfill the role requirements remotely and would be expected to travel regularly to India if appointed. Secondments will be considered.
