Project Controls Manager

We are Hiring! Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, GA Project Controls Group as a Project Controls Manager. This candidate provides oversight and support of the cost and schedule control functions of a significant project or program, including budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, systems management, contract compliance, schedule management, and billing/invoicing/accounts payable coordination and review.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Provides guidance and consultation to Project and Construction Managers with general financial management of design and construction projects.
  • Acts as liaison between Finance and Operations.
  • Manages KPIs, including reporting and providing analysis to drive decision making.
  • Supports schedule management and provides guidance to the Project Scheduler.
  • Supervises the implementation of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract.
  • Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan and communicates the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.
  • Provides regular, timely updates on project status to senior leadership.
  • Ensures projects are executed in accordance with contractual requirements, Program Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Organizes project reviews throughout the life of each project.
  • Participates in the design and back-end support for dashboard-level reporting of project and program cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
  • Assists in the development of Program Planned Value utilizing cost-loaded CPM software.
  • Creates project and program level cost and schedule reports.
  • Supports document control best practices.

What will you contribute?

  • 10-15 years project controls experience in a large construction project or program setting
  • Bachelors Degree in Management, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Advanced understanding of project accounting methods
  • Advanced understanding of project risk management requirements
  • Exposure to Power BI
  • Knowledge CPM scheduling methods and software (P6 primarily)
  • MS Suite, with emphasis on Excel
