SNC-Lavalin Inc. is seeking Project Engineers to fill roles in our Regina or Saskatoon offices.
Reporting to the Construction Lead, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, playing a key role in delivering projects for our major clients across the prairies. You will gain valuable experience in various field roles required on major highway construction projects, including being a site supervisor responsible for all activities including safety, quality control, contractor supervision, surveying, and traffic accommodation. You will gain exposure in all project phases, including detailed design, tendering and construction. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, have a keen interest in a fast paced work environment, and be proficient in organization, and time management. The successful applicant must be able to work interchangeably in a team setting and independently, and will be expected to liaise with professional staff including technicians, engineers, sub-consultants, contractors and clients.
How will you contribute to the team?
Comply with corporate policies and safety protocols and identification of general safety, and HSE requirements
Carry out a variety of field tasks on construction projects, including surveying, materials testing, contractor supervision, and other duties as required by the project
Enforce contract specifications
Provide supervision, leadership, and expertise during highway design and construction projects
Ensuring a high level of safety for all SNC-Lavalin staff on a project site and well as roadway workers and the public
Liaising with local stakeholders, including landowners and municipal government, when required
Provide assistance to our design team as required, which may include the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs
Preparation of reports, documents, and other required deliverables for our construction projects
Preparation of proposals as required
What will you contribute?
Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline from an accredited university
Registered or eligible to be registered with APEGS
Ideally 1-3 years relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment
Willing to work extended or irregular hours within Western Canada
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as a member of a team
Excellent communication (written and oral), prioritization and organization skills
Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload
Effective interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Micro station is considered an asset
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
