How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Manage an Engineering Management Team to deliver Engineering scope as per client expectations. While enforcing the applicable Quality Assurance Program and Industry Standards.

  • Provide leadership to the engineering team, setting strategic direction based on scope and priorities.

  • Facilitate coordination and interface with engineering disciplines, project partners, and sub-contractors.

  • Interface directly with Clients / Customers, Partners and Third-Party stakeholders.

  • Accountable for managing the technical execution to the project scope and budge.

  • Accountability for Home Office Design, Work Planning, and Resident Engineering, including oversight of the Engineering Managers in each of these areas.

  • Approve documents affecting Engineering Scope; invoke change management principles.

  • Manage schedule compliance and proactively resolve conflicts.

  • Manage resource requirements, allocation and assignments.

  • Manage the dissemination of information to the engineering team.

  • Ensure quality adherence / performance and procedural compliance.

  • Prepare and present progress reports to the management team and client.

  • Reports to the Chief Nuclear Engineer and to the Manager, Engineering Management and Support.

What will you contribute?

  • Engineering Degree (B.A.Sc. or equivalent) from an accredited University.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in EPCM/EPC capital project execution.

  • Core knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines i.e. Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control.

  • Work experience in the Nuclear Industry is required.

  • Field engineering experience is an asset.

  • Excellent client service/management, inter-personal, problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Experience managing sub-contractors and work sharing with other offices within the organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of project interfaces, engineering management processes and procedures.

  • Proficient in execution planning, organization and resource allocation.

  • Proficient in organizing and managing complex engineering activities and problem solving.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.

  • Proficient knowledge of project control systems, procurement systems and construction practices.

  • Broad-based business and commercial knowledge.

  • Strong directional leadership and people management skills.

  • Demonstrates accountability and a results-oriented approach to project execution.

  • Strong multi-tasking coordination skills.

  • Adaptable to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
