Faithful+Gould are looking for Project Managers to join our growing Transportation and Infrastructure business. You will be part of a great team that puts strong emphasis on training development, progression, and support for its people. You will benefit from a development programme across our Transportation Portfolio designed to ensure your career objectives are met in full.

You will be based in either our own offices, on site, our client’s offices, or from home, as best fits our client’s needs.

We are looking for a collaborative, motivated individual to:

  • Provide effective delivery of project and programme management services regionally across the Transportation sectors, covering road, rail, aviation and local transport.
  • Build successful working relationships with local and national clients.
  • Provide support to the senior management team in the growth of our sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex projects/programmes under NEC form of contracts.
  • Provide leadership skills necessary to direct and manage the project team.
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to different stakeholders, including effectively chairing meetings.
  • Develop, manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders through collaborative working within the client and/or project teams.
  • Clear understanding of and competence in project commercial accountability.
  • Actively broaden your experience and expertise in line with the core competencies for PM discipline.
  • Applying the principles of quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental management in compliance with the organisation's Policies.
  • Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a commission or project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues.
  • Assisting to generate repeat business and develop new business opportunities.
  • Awareness of the professional and commercial implications of your work.
  • Contribute to bid preparation and winning work.
  • Mentoring trainee, assistant and graduate colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Member (or working towards membership) of a professional body (e.g. APM, PMI, ICE, RICS) or equivalent recognized institutional body.
  • Established knowledge and understanding of the project / programme lifecycle methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP etc) and overall project management techniques.
  • Active involvement on a number of commissions/projects as Project Manager under the NEC form of contract.
  • Ideally experience of working with Local Authorities, or regional / national transport bodies.
  • Experience of reviewing contracts documents including familiarity with contractual obligations, breaches and remedies.
  • Possess sound technical health, safety and environmental & Risk Management knowledge, applicable to the business and wider industry.
  • Client facing experience, including working with clients on a commission/project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues.
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to oversee a team on commissions/projects/programmes.
  • We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have delivered projects for clients in the rail, highways, or aviation sectors.

This role has excellent prospects for an individual who has a strong ambition to progress and enjoys working collaboratively within a vibrant team. As well as technical competence, we are looking for someone with the ability to think laterally, who possesses first class communication skills, has strong commercial awareness, and will provide an excellent service to our Clients.
