Quantity Surveyor

Atkins is a member of SNC-Lavalin, one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across the globe.

We are recruiting for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with global design engineering framework experience to join our London office for 6-12 months before being relocated to Riyadh or the client’s site in KSA. This is an excellent opportunity to take on significant responsibility on a Mega Project being executed in the North West of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will join the team at the beginning of a major, growing program with plenty of opportunities for career development. They will successfully manage a contract and design contract works.

Please note, the successful candidate is expected to travel to our Central London office minimum 3 days per week (flexibility is available for the successful candidate).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provision of post contract QS services

• Engender a team spirit that encourages delivery excellence.

• Co-ordinate and work with the wider Faithful+Gould business.

• Retain and own close contact with client individuals.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience on Mixed-use development and Infrastructure projects

• Demonstrable procurement experience

• Previous experience of FIDIC contracts

• Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar

• Commercial Contract Administration and Change management

• Interim valuations and payment certificates

• Variations analysis and recommendations, Contractor’s claims

• Performing risk and value management and cost control functions

• Undertaking costs analysis project work, prepare estimates of variation works

• Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks

• Preparation of cost report and monitor the cash flow

• Reporting to Client Representative on all commercial issues

• Client facing and involvement in commercial meetings

• Managing workload with minimal supervision

• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

• Effective ability to work as part of a team or independently

• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)

• Chartership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent

• Some years of post-contract experience

• Must come from a private consultancy or a design and build contractor background

Security Clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
