Senior Civil & Structural Engineer

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a fully qualified Structural Engineer for our Vancouver civil group.

Location – Vancouver (BC)

Your role within the team?

As a member of the waterpower, dams and hydrotechnical civil group, you will:

  • Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to Hydraulic structures.
  • Perform structural and seismic analysis including both static and dynamic analysis, and produce analysis report.
  • Prepare design and engineering computations using applicable software program (e.g., Mathcad, AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, SAP2000, CSiCol, SAFE, ETABS, CADAM, etc.).
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters.
  • Perform field walkdowns during different design phases as required.
  • Assist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions.
  • Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.

The ideal candidate

  • Civil-structural engineer 15+ years of experience focused on steel and reinforced concrete design heavy industrial projects, registered or be eligible for EGBC P.Eng registration.
  • Applying good mathematical, scientific and critical reasoning skills, quantitative, problem-solving abilities, paid attention to details.
  • Experience in hydropower industry will be considered as a great asset specifically focusing on the design of water conveyances, open channels, tunnels, penstocks, intakes, and water outlet structures and lining systems.
  • Experience in FEM ANSYS, ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, structural analysis will be considered as a strength.

Compensation Range:

Expected compensation for this role is between $109,300 - $182,100 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
