AtkinsRéalis is seeking a fully qualified Structural Engineer for our Vancouver civil group.

Location – Vancouver (BC)

Your role within the team?

  • Develop a strong understanding of each contract’s scope/specifications/Issued for Construction Drawings and contractor prepared drawings/submittals, to ensure each contractor’s work activities are completed in conformance with the contract and design/approved work methods.
  • Use construction experience to proactively anticipate, identify and assist with the mitigation of contractor interfaces and/or related construction risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters.
  • Prepare detailed design and drawings development, technical specification writing, shop drawings review, preparing reports, designs and drawings.
  • Perform field walkdowns during different design phases as required.
  • Assist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, lifting plan, commissioning, etc.
  • Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.

The ideal candidate:

  • Civil engineer with 10+ years of experience focused on design, construction, and maintenance of various infrastructure projects and systems, preferably hydroelectric projects. eligible for EGBC P. Eng. Registration.
  • Experience in development of project site layout plans, land development and grading plans. excavation works, low volume roads alignments, storm management designs.
  • Working experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Selecting appropriate construction materials, providing technical advice, monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by other engineers and designers.
  • Experience in hydropower industry will be considered as a great asset specifically focusing on the design of water conveyances, open channels, tunnels, penstocks, intakes, and water outlet structures and lining systems.

Compensation Range:

Expected compensation for this role is between $109,300 - $182,100 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
