Our expertise include: Balance of Nuclear Steam Plant (BNSP), Balance of Plant (BOP), Heavy Water Plants (HWR), Plant Life Management and Extension, Steam Generator Replacement, Metrology and Spatial Analysis, Refurbishments and Retrofits, Environmental Qualification, Nuclear Plant decommissioning, Waste Management and associated audits, and Nuclear Research facilities.


Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
· Represent Home Office Mechanical Engineering in the field during fabrication and construction;
· Provide Mechanical Design Support for pre-fabrication activities;
· Provide Mechanical Design Support to the construction team in the field for the execution of Design Change Packages;
· Provide solutions and recommendations to technical issues in the field;
· Ensure that the design is executed in accordance with approved Design Change Packages released for
fabrication and construction;
· Manage field changes, deviations, non-conformances, and requests for information in accordance with approved procedures;
· Act as a single point of contact between the construction team and the home office Mechanical design team;
· Report progress to the Engineering Manager on a regular basis;
· Collaborate with other Resident Engineers and home office Design Engineers to ensure support is available to construction, as required on a timely basis;
· Interface with plant personnel to ensure that plant operability and nuclear safety concerns are adequately addressed


Qualifications:


· Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (minimum 7 years in the Nuclear industry);
· Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, member in good standing;
· Good understanding of power plant operation and CANDU design basis is an asset;
· Site / field experience working on modifications to Nuclear Systems, Structures & Components, interfacing with construction teams and acting as liaison between construction and design;
· Working knowledge of Work Planning and field execution;
· Experience with configuration management, plant modifications, and plant design basis. Working knowledge of Bruce Power ECC work processes and procedures is an asset;
· Working knowledge of nuclear codes and regulatory standards, including ASME III, CSA N285.0, ASME VIII, ASME B31.1;
· Experience interfacing with TSSA and ANI to ensure compliance and resolution to code related requirements;
· Knowledge of analytical design software is an asset;
· Familiar with Bruce Power facility is an asset;
· Excellent written and oral communication skills;
· Results driven individual with strong interpersonal skills
Other Aspects
· Security Clearance is mandatory. Active Security Clearance at Bruce Power is an asset
