Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Jacksonville, FL Construction Group as a Senior Project Engineer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under general direction, provides technical expertise to the direction of the firm's construction services program activities at one or various project sites. Responsible for the administration and observation of construction activities to determine if the quality of the work performed by the contractor meets clients' needs and governmental requirements and conforms substantially with plans and specifications. Represents the firm to the construction project group and has ultimate responsibility for the firm's performance on the project. NOTE: Incumbents do not supervise any contractor's activities and are not responsible for job site safety. This title is to be used only for personnel with engineering degree/license, or in FDOT contracts or states where state regulations do not disallow the use of the 'Engineer' designation for non-engineers.


JOB DUTIES

Work involves planning, coordination and problem solving on a variety of construction engineering projects involving several disciplines, multiple contractors and/or regulatory agencies.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Ten years experience with Bachelor's in a combination of engineering design and construction/construction observation activities, including management and supervision of field personnel. Twenty years’ experience without degree.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION

• Must obtain Florida PE within 6 months.

• FDOT Advanced MOT
• Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination.
