As part of the SNC Lavalin Group of companies, the delivery of IT is via a function called IT Services (ITS).  ITS is made up of digital, user service, technology and project management experts, working across multiple regions, supporting a wide range of IT solutions to our global business.

The Project Management service portfolio team consists of technical subject matter experts who focus on the solutions used by our business to manage our projects. Covering functionality such as project controls, Scheduling, procurement, and risk and change management.  The team provides technical solutions to drive business success.

Reporting to the Director, Project Management services portfolio, this position provides the opportunity to join a highly skilled and motivated global IT organization responsible for the design and delivery of Project management, Project controls and procurement business applications for the whole SNC-Lavalin Group.

The post holder will be responsible for providing technology strategy and architectural governance within the Project mgmt. and procurement portfolio – focusing on both application/service architecture as well as integrations.  This will include understanding businesses requirements, defining solutions and overseeing technical delivery whilst ensuring alignment with the broader IT strategic direction.
What will be your contribution to the team?

  • Work with global and regional stakeholders to understand business need, propose solutions including new and innovative approaches to solving business challenges. 
  • Engage closely with ITS technical delivery teams and product specialists to ensure robust, strategically aligned solutions are delivered.
  • Work with partners and suppliers to ensure optimal engagement across projects and technologies. 
  • Participate or lead technical design reviews to ensure high quality technical designs, delivery against best practices and making use of re-useable components.
  • Evaluate existing and new solutions/designs for quality/consistency while ensuring scalability and cost effectiveness.
  • Drive renewal of legacy platforms from architecture perspective balancing risk, transition strategy and pace to delivery.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong background in system integration design.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Project management industry plays such as Oracle Aconex, Primavera P6, Hexagon Ecosys an asset.
  • Knowledge of Procurement and provisioning solutions is an asset.
  • A significant amount of experience working within large organisations going through modernization roadmap is an asset.
  • Experience in an Agile project management environment, including storyboarding and sprint delivery.  Knowledge of SCRUM management would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and working experience with both Oracle EBS and JDE ERPs.
  • Strong stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills; prepared to challenge conventional thinking. 
  • Working experience in: Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, Microsoft Dev Ops Framework along with a sound working knowledge of ERP architecture and integration methods.
  • Familiar with business and technical concepts such as business process design, service management, applications, servers, networks and security (both technical and process).
  • Proven Solution/Service design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of solution areas such as transformation and migration, security, business analysis, applications, integration and infrastructure, service management and understands how these interact to arrive at a solution.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and design skills. Able to visualise large, complex situations and break them into component parts to drive appropriate actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an attention to detail.
