This position is embedded at our client location in La Porte, TX, and reports to our Piping Design Department Manager. It is responsible for facilitating the development of 3D CADWorx plant models, piping design, isometric drawing production, and AutoCAD work on PID’s. Our clients are requesting these engineering services on projects and we need to be able to support them.

Senior Piping Designer requires working on fast paced technically complex design/build projects in the chemical, refining and midstream facilities.

What will be your contribution?

• Ensure piping project deliverables are checked and meet industry, client, and company quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance instruction and direction to others in area(s) of expertise involving piping systems.
• Prepare all types of designs, layouts, basic plans, in conformance with applicable codes and design standards.
• Perform and execute most assignments independently.
• Field walk outs, drawing searches and retrievals, create construction scope documents and revisions to drawings via redline mark ups with some drafting.
• Explore and suggest new approaches and concepts in design components.

What ae we looking for?

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in refinery, midstream, petrochemical, or other heavy industries.
• Design and construction knowledge of piping systems.
• Advanced knowledge about design/drafting principles and practices.
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Experience with design and/or construction of plants.
• Proficient in the following software: AutoCAD and CADWorx Plant Design.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe/Foxit Pro.
