Sr. Traffic / ITS Engineer
We are hiring! Atkins seeks a Sr. Traffic / ITS Engineer to join our Orlando, FL team.
Under direction, provides the expertise of a seasoned Traffic Engineer to all conventional aspects of functional Traffic / ITS Engineering area and applies advanced concepts and techniques to unconventional engineering problems. May function as individual researcher or technical specialist. Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct

How will you contribute to the team?
- Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of Traffic Engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.
What will you contribute?
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
- This level may be achieved by Engineers with four years of experience since B.S. or 6 years since M.S.
- Typical incumbent has six to ten years of experience.
- Proven technical writing and communication skills.
- Incumbent may be eligible for project management training.
- Must be familiar with the following software packages (Microsoft Office Sutie, Adobe Acrobat Professional, MicroStation, AutoCAD.
- P.E. licensed is required.
- Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license a plus.
- Minimum three (3) year’s experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) policy and procedures, and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) is preferred.
- FDOT Signing and Pavement Marking Design experience is preferred.
