We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Miami Florida office.

Our Internship Program is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Provide administrative and operations support.
  • Participate in conducting engineering investigations of existing commercial buildings in southern Florida. Travel to other states may be required, on occasion.
  • Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
  • Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the review of a more experienced professional.
  • Collect and analysis of data using established procedures and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Travel to client sites for investigations up to 50%
  • Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
  • Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
  • Develop engineering calculations under the supervision of senior structural engineers.
  • Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Candidate must have a valid US driver’s license
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.

What will you contribute?

  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil, structural or architectural engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Experience with Revit (preferred)
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: None
