Join us and you’ll work with a small supportive team who work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver our Engineering Net Zero Programme(ENZ). You’ll work proactively with teams on an exciting range of high-profile projects. Your work will support our clients in the delivery of their ENZ goals and provide staff with the knowledge, tools and processes to drive carbon reduction through all our projects. This is your opportunity to enjoy reach and high visibility across the global business, working directly with our Technical Directors and providing innovative approaches to work winning and project delivery. You'll also engage regularly with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, from Managing Directors to our Operational Leadership Team.

Your purpose:

  • Trusted as a proactive subject matter expert in carbon assessment and management, climate change and resilience, to work across the global team to deliver the ENZ Programme.
  • Working flexibly across all the programme workstreams, including win work, deliver work, behavioural change and corporate sustainability.
  • Developing and rolling out tools and approaches to Whole Life Carbon Management, measuring, quantifying and driving down carbon on our clients' projects from inception to decommissioning.
  • Developing and rolling out training and upskilling teams to increase capability and capacity will also be a key part of this role.
  • Linking into new and existing development initiatives to ensure that approaches to carbon are embedded across our ways of working, including BMS, project governance and our Digital Futures Programme.
  • Supporting teams on strategic bids and projects to ensure we deliver innovative approaches for our clients and increase our win rate on key opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong internal network across key regions and initiatives such as Digital Futures.
  • Providing ad hoc strategic subject matter expertise for various carbon and sustainability issues. The successful individual will have a good understanding of and passion for the Net Zero agenda and experience with low carbon approaches and technologies.

What you can bring?

  • Strong understanding of and passion for the Net Zero agenda.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to establish structure and governance while engaging with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
  • Carbon literate and knowledgeable on the principles of Whole Life Carbon Management.
  • Experience of low carbon technologies and understanding of their implementation ideally across several market sectors, including water, transportation, aviation and energy.
  • A self-starter able to work proactively and independently.
  • Able to work across multiple workstreams/projects and prioritise workload to ensure successful delivery.
  • Being different makes a difference – creative thought, qualitative reasoning, atypical problem-solving, pattern spotting, big-picture thinking, ability to multi-task or single-task focus.
