SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business seeks an energetic
and highly motivated self-starter to join our Bartow, FL office (Greater
Tampa Bay area) as a Transportation Engineer (Entry-Level).
MAJOR
FUNCTION/ROLE
Under supervision, applies technical
professional proficiency to the solution of planning problems and the coordination
of related project activities. Work may involve working directly with the
Florida Department of Transportation supporting various programs and projects
in the Intermodal Systems Development (ISD) Office.
JOB
DUTIES
Performs work for the Florida Department of
Transportation Intermodal Systems Development (ISD) Office which may include
the following:
- Review and
process project invoices and supporting documentation for payment to ensure
eligibility of costs and to comply with contractual provisions within 5
working days.
- Ensures FDOT
compliance and success with financial and program management audits.
- Tracking
funds.
- Ensuring
subrecipients are placing orders.
- Ensuring all
funds are being expended via review of monthly status reports.
- Working with
CUTR and Central Office.
- Working with
District Staff and CUTR to redistribute funds.
- Could
include application amendments, Program of projects (POP) amendments, NOGA
amendments, etc.
- Reviewing
and approving equipment purchases made by the subrecipient.
- Printing and
filing the final documents once the vehicle has been delivered.
- Project
coordination meetings.
- Grant
application review and process for selecting projects.
- Develops,
processes, and distributes Joint Participation Agreements (JPA), Supplemental
JPA’s, Notification of Funding forms (NOF’s), and Notification of Grant Awards
(NOGA) according to the FDOT procedures and production schedule.
- Maintains
the project schedule worksheet for the current fiscal year.
- Prepare the
project schedule worksheet for the future fiscal year.
- Conducts
site (agency specific) and field reviews and prepares correspondence to ensure
compliance with Agreement requirements and FDOT procedures.
- Conduct the
vehicle title releases process with CUTR and Central Office.
- Conduct the
vehicle transfers process with subrecipient and Central Office.
- Assist with
the work program cycle, including updating project costs in accordance with
Federal apportionments, change requests and code sheets.
- Review and
approve third-party agreements.
EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Engineering. Minimal experience is
required of incumbents with a Bachelor's Degree in a branch of Engineering
directly related to hiring discipline; no experience required with a Master's
degree.
SPECIAL
SKILLS
Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing
technical writing, and communications skills. PC and CAD skills require.
PROFESSIONAL
REGISTRATIONS
E.I. or EIT desired.
