Urban Design Masterplanner - Assistant to Mid Level

Atkins Infrastructure division have vacancies for an Urban Design Masterplanner in both our London and Manchester offices.

You will have the opportunity to use your skills and develop your career, benefitting from the opportunity to work on our diverse and high-profile masterplanning projects in the UK and around the world. The opportunities would particularly suit Urban Designers / Masterplanners who have good design and graphic representation skills and who have preferably had some previous UK residential experience. 

As Urban Designer / Masterplanner you will be responsible for activities including:

• Working as part of a team supporting the delivery of a diverse range of Uk and international urban design and master planning projects;
• Supporting high quality design and technical activities and producing strong graphic outputs;
• Playing an active part in our ambitious and creative design studio that includes architects, masterplannners and landscape architects, and working through projects with our broader Atkins multi-disciplinary teams. 

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in urban design or comparable qualification, with  a preferable first degree in the design field such as in architecture or landscape architecture;
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken;
• Excellent graphic design skills with a minimum fluency in AUTOCAD, Adobe Creative Suite;
• Use of GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), hand sketching, 3D modelling (Sketch Up, Rhino, etc..) a distinct advantage;
• When circumstances permit, be available to travel across the UK when required. The ability to work away from home in the UK or internationally would be of benefit.
