Objectives and Responsibilities:

A key member of the Young Professional development support team within the Advanced Engineering Delivery & Consultancy Practice within the Aerospace, Defence, Security & Technology (ADS&T) Division.

Provide efficient, accurate and detailed administrative support as required.  Implement agreed consistent administrative systems, practices and processes across the Young Professional programme.  Duties will include:

Apprentice and Industrial Placement Programmes:

  • Provide administration support specifically to the Apprentice and Industrial Placement programmes including recruitment activities, creating recruitment brochures, organizing pre-visits for new starters, organizing inductions, apprentice presentations and end of placement presentations.
  • Provide support as required to the Young Professional Development Manager, line managers and the Practice Managers.

Training & Development:

  • Ensure all mandatory training courses have been completed by all Young Professional on the programmes, encouraging compliance and seeking feedback on all courses attended.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Young Professionals seeking chartership have a mentor and the quality of the engagement is appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the Young Professional forum activities as required.
  • Work alongside the Young Professional Development Manager and Young Professional Development Support Administrator for the graduate programme as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience of office administration.
  • Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Self-sufficient, ability to work independent from instruction with a proactive approach.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and keen team player.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Organised, detail oriented and a master of time management.
  • Understand the ‘Need to Know’ principle regarding sensitive information.
  • Experienced user of the Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Outlook etc.).
  • Ad hoc travel within the UK is a requirement of this role.

Note: This is a part-time position that will be 20 hours a week. We need someone who can cover Mondays and Fridays.
