As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital’s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing, and operate and maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.

We are currently looking for a Business Improvement Analyst based out of our South Mimms depot.



Role Purpose:


To assist the Business Efficiency Manager and Performance Manager in the development and management of the Business Improvement programme. This role will proactively engage with the business to implement Business Improvement Projects in line with business goals and objectives.  The business improvement co-ordinator will also keep up-to-date records on improvement opportunities and projects while providing efficient reporting to the business.


Accountabilities:


·         Assist in the production of business cases for Lean process improvement projects

·         Deliver lean projects in line with CPS demand and support other improvement projects as required, utilising technical support from Performance manager where required

·         Lead the PMO functionality that manages the lean projects programme completion

·         Report on (Lean) Project / Champion progress to the management and leadership team as required

·         Manage the Change Register to ensure prioritisation of ideas and active attendance at the change board.

·         Analysis of performance to identify where lean activities can be introduced to raise performance

·         Track improvement projects to encourage completion before collating benefits for reporting

·         Collect and analyse measurement data to support the scoping of BI projects

·         Assist in resource allocation of lean practitioner placement and necessary administration

·         In liaison with the Health and Safety team, process improvement suggestions from the Don’t Walk By’s and manage the feedback route to originators and support improvements where required

·         Live the Connect Plus Services Values

·         Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm

·         Role model continuous improvement within the CPS team

·         Deliver basic ‘lean awareness’ training to colleagues as appropriate

·         Proactively initiate improvement projects and identify hard savings

·         Engage proactively with Highways England improvement team to share best practice and promote collaboration

·         Annual preparation for Highway England Lean Maturity Assessment (HELMA) documentation

·         Be a part of the CPS HELMA team to engage with the Highways England audit/assessment.


Essential Experience:


·         Excel knowledge

·         Good analytical and problem solving skills

·         Must demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and excellent attention to detail

·         Excellent organisational and time management skills

·         Work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team

·         Calm under pressure

·         Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the business

·         Full driver’s License

·         Flexibility to work across all sites as required

·         Commitment to great customer service standards

·         Experience of Project management

·         Ability to display and explain complex data in an engaging way

 

Desirable:


·         Knowledge of ‘Lean’ (e.g Green Belt certification)

·         Presentation skills

·         Coaching skills

     Excellent IT skills, including: Mini tab, Visio, Microsoft project
