We are looking for Design Manager to Principal Engineer - Geotechnical to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Bangalore, IN. An ideal opportunity for individuals looking to develop their international experience by working with a multidiscipline team of Geotechnical Engineers providing a comprehensive design service to our clients.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • The successful applicant will be a senior geotechnical engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
  • A strong academic background with degree in Civil engineering and master’s degree or PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Ability to supervise small project teams.
  • Proven experience of acting as a geotechnical engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
  • Good commercial track record in negotiating and running jobs successfully.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • A flair for innovation and sustainability.
  • Willingness to travel on short term assignments both within India and overseas.

What will you contribute? 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant subject with appropriate and sufficient experience in the field of   geotechnical engineering either with civil consultancy or as a designer for a ground engineering contractor.
  • Professional Engineer, P.Eng. from US/ Canada Regions.
  • With minimum 15 years of relevant design experience.
  • Strong work experience in US and or Canada Regions Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.
  • Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Design of modular and embedded retaining walls, slope stability analysis & pile group analysis.
  • Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, VDISP & REPUTE.
  • Experience of soil structure interaction work and numerical analysis would be an advantage.
  • Experience of providing digital and sustainable solutions on the projects.
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers.
  • Willingness to travel to overseas.
  • Excellent written and spoken English within a business environment.
  • Good interpersonal and Communication Skills.
