Finance Assistant

AtkinsRéalis, Balfour Beatty and Egis Road Operations UK are part of a consortium, creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.

As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital’s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such as widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing and operate and maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.

About the role:

• This exciting role provides the opportunity to join the iconic M25 project.  Connect Plus Services is a Joint Venture incorporating Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis and Egis. 
• As the finance assistant, you will work with the cost assurance manager to control the parent company recharges within the finance department. 
• This will require working with the finance team and wider business to ensure the overall. controls are adhered to.  Great career opportunities are on offer for the successful candidate.

What you will be doing:

• Liaise with parent companies to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
• Support the timesheet process for staff, ensuring that all timesheets are recorded timely and accurately within the accounting ledgers, updating staff records within Time Sheet Portal as appropriate.
• Produce analytics on parent company costs.
• Manage and control monthly staff expenses.
• Process weekly operatives’ expenses and analytics thereon.
• Prepare salary and expense balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile vouchers. 
• Implement improvements to processes and reports to enhance the understanding of staff costs to aid ensuring those costs are controlled.

Who we are looking for?

• Previous experience within finance.
• Experience of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong excel skills.
• Strong data skills. Able to interrogate large quantities of complex data quickly and efficiently and provide meaningful insights.
• Good ERP system skills.
• Articulate with excellent communication skills.
• Would suit candidates that are interested in long term career development within CPS and / or their parent company and are willing to study for accounting qualifications.
