I.ABOUT US
The joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and Aecon has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Darlington Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR) project. The project involves refurbishment of all four reactors at the Darlington Generating Station and consists of two phases – a Definition Phase and an Execution Phase. The Definition Phase includes the construction of a full-scale reactor mock-up to simulate key elements of the refurbishment work, and the development, procurement and testing of specialized tooling required for the project. The Execution Phase involves refurbishment of the reactor cores using the tools and methods that were developed and tested during the Definition Phase.
II.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Contracts Administrator provides accurate and timely reviews of contractors’ invoices, reporting on spend analysis, and tracking of contractors’ performance against budgets and schedules, consistent with their education, training and experience, all in accordance with Corporate and Project requirements, to the SLN-Aecon Joint Venture.
III.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare project specific contract administration documentation based on corporate template.
Assist project staff with the interpretation and practical application of contract documents.
Ensure that all contractual obligations are met by the SLN-Aecon JV and customer.
Manage relationships with the contractors.
Anticipate risk, provide input for risk mitigation plans.
Assist project staff with identification, documentation and quantification of changes in the Work..
Support appropriate oversight of subcontractors as directed by Procurement Manager.
Attend and support customer and SLN-Aecon JV project reviews.
Draft and expedite communications with contractors and follow-up as necessary.
Maintain appropriate contract records.
Supports Project Controls group in tracking incurred costs and accruals.
Provide presentations and workshops, as required by the Manager, to the employees with respect to contract administration including corporate policies, procedures and guidelines, change and delay management, invoicing, and insurance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
3 to 5 years’ experience in the engineering, procurement and construction industry.
Post-secondary education in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering.
Intermediate knowledge and/or experience with cost tracking and auditing.
Basic knowledge of contract law, negotiating and drafting construction contracts.
Knowledge and/or experience with risk management best practices and processes.
Working knowledge of nuclear export and import compliance.
Advanced knowledge of intellectual property management.
Basic knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and management.
Knowledge of contract administration procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
Good planning & time management skills.
Good decision-making ability and negotiation skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
Working knowledge of SAP, PM+, or other industry leading ERP systems
