Job Title: Programme Manager

The Role
Working within the Nuclear Assets business, you will support our customers by delivering complex engineering programmes, embedded in their team, most likely in Gloucester.
You must be able to appreciate complex technical and commercial issues and work collaboratively with a broad range of client stakeholders of varying levels of seniority; leading project managers and diverse technical specialists who are either local to you or distributed across multiple sites.
We are particularly keen to speak to professional engineers who are now building a career as a programme manager and are outcomes focused.
Other aspects of the role will include supporting the growth of our consultancy capabilities through building a reputation for excellence, mentoring others, supporting business development and bidding activities.
The Person
You’ll have excellent leadership, communication, listening, stakeholder management and influencing skills. You’ll be able to manage client relationships, engage constructively with multiple stakeholders, and lead project managers and their delivery teams. Through your work you will also help support and shape the development of future business.
You’ll enjoy turning your hand to new challenges and will be keen to learn, whilst also wanting to support others within our diverse multi-disciplinary teams. You must also be able to successfully deliver the desired outcomes of client programmes and proactively deploy programme management techniques (typically MSP) to achieve this. In addition, you’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:
• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
• Certified MSP Practitioner, or holds an APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) alongside Programme Management experience.
• Experience of leading and directing teams and resources. Able to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and create a safe and high-quality delivery culture.
• A strong element of client relationship management and people leadership. Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to work at the client site, and travel within the UK and abroad occasionally, as necessary.
• Willing to work flexibly with occasional out of hours work to accommodate client requirements.
• Desirable but not essential is:
Nuclear industry experience. Applications from candidates from high hazard industries such as Oil and Gas, Aerospace or other highly regulated Health & Safety environments would be welcomed.
