The New Eastern Villages is one of the largest greenfield developments in the country. It will consist of 8,000 homes, new schools, employment spaces and community and leisure facilities. In an effort to mitigate the impact of the new traffic generated from this, Swindon Borough Council has proposed a number of infrastructure improvement schemes. Key cycling and pedestrian routes will also be incorporated in the development.

The DAM Team were ideally positioned to provide the pavement detailed design solutions, having clearly understood the Client’s requirements and strong technical understanding of the design process.

The team also has vast experience in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to deliver a fully integrated design. These skills were utilised during the design schemes as the pavement design team had to liaise with various other disciplines such as Geotechnical, Highways, Structure’s teams in order to produce a consistent and an integrated design.

The client now benefits from a fully integrated detailed pavement design solution that makes full use of innovative pavement design techniques and materials that abides by all relevant design standards.
