Junior Civil Designer/Modeler

CANDU Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking qualified Junior Civil Designer/Modeler to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.

How will you contribute to the team?

This position requires working on fast paced technically complex projects in the nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following:

• Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Sketching, and three-dimensional computer modeling.
• Prepare 3D Model in Revit, SolidWorks, or Tekla
• Adhere to all drawing procedures and document control standards.
• Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with design team to ensure the compliances.
• Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation, and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Three to Five years of experience in civil/structural design and drafting.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation and SolidWorks
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills working.
